40 S&W Ammo

40 S&W ammo was developed by Smith & Wesson in 1990. It was intended as a replacement for the 10mm cartridge that was used by the FBI. The 10mm cartridge, while powerful, produced significant recoil and was challenging to manage in rapid-fire situations. In response, the FBI sought a cartridge that could offer similar ballistic performance with less recoil. This lead to the creation of the 40 S&W. This new cartridge quickly gained popularity with law enforcement agencies throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. 40 Smith & Wesoon featured a balanced combination of stopping power, manageable recoil, and the capacity to fit into a medium-sized handgun frame.

40 S&W Ammo is now available in various bullet designs and weights from 140 grains to 200 grains.
